My mission this fall? Fun. Let my hair down. Do something crazy. Ignore the vacuuming and have a dance party – well, except probably not dancing as I have zero rhythm. Zero. But, you get the idea.
Here’s my list so far:
- Carve a pumpkin
- Go apple picking
- Bake a pie (try a new flavor!)
- Roast s’mores with friends over the firepit
- Walk through fall leaves and enjoy the crunch beneath my feet
- Learn to drive a car with a manual transmission
- Make “thanks for being a great neighbor” fall cookie bundles for the folks on our block
- Project: turn our found coffee table into a decorative tray
- Take a vacation
- Send a snail mail package to a far-away-friend
Ok, ok, I know these might not seem like anything too wild and crazy, but it’s the little things that take life from mundane to fun. I’m baby-steppin’ here folks. Let’s just see if I can get these super fun, semi-less-than-ordinary things checked off my bucket list before December!

These things could be in a story. The blogger could be the main character.

/ September 26, 2012Ooo…I like the “fall bucket list” logo. And I definitely affirm your decision to include pie-making on the list, but I’m not sure I can testify to your lack of rhythm.

/ November 15, 2012I drafted my own list a while back, but then forgot to pass it on to you. Here goes!
Get lost in a corn maze.
Crank out a review a week for the new blog. (http://www.patheos.com/blogs/schaeffersghost/)
Buy snazzy riding boots and wear them with a denim skirt.
Go on a hay ride. (Later substituted a haunted house for this.)
See the new 007 movie.
Build a fire in the fireplace (can be delegated to the hubs).
Host A Literary Feast. (http://www.aliteraryfeast.org/)
Roast marshmallows for s’mores.
Take the dog for long walks (and maybe even runs).
Drink hot apple cider.
Stand under an Autumn Purple Ash and look up.
Travel to Phoenix for work (and pleasure).
